The wait is finally over, with the production of customer model of Tesla Model 3 to start this week. Deliveries will also start soon, which will put to rest all the speculations about its look, bare dash, and all other things.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors, announced on 3 July, that “Model 3 passed all regulatory requirements for production two weeks ahead of schedule. Expecting to complete SN1 on Friday”. SN1 means Serial Number 1, signifying the first production car of Model 3.

Also, Tesla plans a party on 28 July, to celebrate the handover of 30th Model 3 to the customer. Elon Musk also tweeted that the production will accelerate with a production of 100 Model 3 in August, 1500 in September and 20,000 in December.

Tesla has been making electric cars for a long period, but not with much commercial success as the other models by Tesla are quite expensive, making them out of reach of most people. Model 3, is Tesla’s way of going around this issue, as its price starts with a modest sum of US$35,000 for base model

It has been a good year for Tesla, with revenues soaring to US$7 billion which helped propel it into the Fortune 500, for the first time in 2017. Its newest car, Model 3 with reservations above 400,000 will only increase the revenue.
